[00:00:00] James: Welcome to episode 215 of the Bandhive Podcast. It is time for another episode of the Bandhive Podcast. My name is James Cross, and I help independent artists tour smart. This week, the episode's a little different because this is the final episode of the Bandhive Podcast. For now, But, first of all, I would love to welcome back, not only the one, the only Matt Hoos, but also Aaron Gingras.
[00:00:25] James: of Suburban Samurai and my own band,
Taken Alive. How are you both doing today?
[00:00:30] Aaron: Good. I'm doing better now that I'm on with you guys.
[00:00:35] James: Uh, well, it's a pleasure to have you both here. Matt, should have shouted out Alive in Barcelona, and that's where the fantastico comes from. You're speaking Spanish because your band is involved with Barcelona. So obviously, you speak fluent Spanish, and your band. And all your lyrics are in Spanish, too. you're listening, and you understand it, and you think it's English, it's actually Spanish, and you just learned Spanish without realizing it.
[00:00:57] Matt: Yeah. I'm like Spanish. The band, [00:01:00] not Portugal, the band
[00:01:01] James: you could say Spanish love songs.
[00:01:02] Matt: I don't actually speak Spanish. James is lying. Don't listen to him. He is coercive. Um, he's,not Spain, Spanish. It's totally different than, Mexico Spanish. I speak plenty of Mexico Spanish.
[00:01:17] James: Yeah. I mean, you, probably enough if you speak Spanish. From Spain or Spanish from Mexico. There's, probably a little
[00:01:23] Matt: I could, I could, I could probably, yeah, I could probably understand a lot. It would take me a little bit to learn the, the dialect and the, lisp, the accents and stuff like that. But I'm good phonetically at stuff like that I think it comes from my listening to music very closely.
[00:01:36] Matt: It's like, I like, phonetics and stuff like that. So I could probably do it. But. I don't know, I've never tried.
[00:01:40] James: that's how I feel with Swiss German. It's like demented. I'm like, that's German. I have no idea what you're saying, but I know that's German.
[00:01:48] Matt: absolutely.
[00:01:49] James: then all of a sudden they find out I speak German and they just click and flip the switch and they're speaking actual German. That's not demented German.
[00:01:57] James: they recognize it as two distinct languages and they can [00:02:00] speak both in many cases. I'm like, huh?
[00:02:02] Matt: It's French. Canadian. French.
[00:02:04] James: Yeah. not the uh, diminutive form, it's the demented form. Sorry, I know I live right next to Canada, and I probably should be nicer to French Canadians, but
[00:02:14] Matt: That's alright. The
[00:02:16] James: Montreal!
[00:02:17] James: There's a story there! Oh, anyway, it's great to have you both back, and for those who haven't been around since day one, Aaron was a co host on the podcast for about the first 50 episodes, he did come back Recently, on like the 180s or so, I want to say,
[00:02:33] James: let's see, episodes
[00:02:34] Aaron: I think it
[00:02:35] James: 188!
[00:02:36] Aaron: Oh, you were right? Yeah.
[00:02:37] James: for
[00:02:37] Aaron: Oh, yeah.
[00:02:39] James: cheap, comma, genius.
[00:02:41] Aaron: I was looking at that thumbnail the other day. I've got it on my Instagram and I I love that remember we were trying to figure out like, is that too mean, like the genius part? No, let's do it.
[00:02:50] James: Yeah there was a debate.
[00:02:52] Aaron: Anybody who wants to check that out you can head on over to bandhive. rocks slash one eight eight, that's the number one hundred eighty eight, [00:03:00] You'll hear why uh, 5 is too cheap for a show. Genius.
[00:03:04] Matt: it was honestly, the debate was a master debate. So, get over there and watch two master debaters going really hard at each other.
[00:03:11] Aaron: that, that's a negative point.
[00:03:13] Matt: I don't know what a negative point is.
[00:03:16] James: anyway, so it's a pleasure to have you back and uh, Matt, you've been on a bunch of episodes as well. Starting way back in the day, the same time as Aaron, and Basically through the whole time, you know, some pauses here and there for family stuff, which I totally get, but it's a pleasure to have you back here as well for this final episode.
[00:03:34] James: And for anyone wondering, I keep saying final as if like, oh, this is a big thing and it's the final episode. I mean, it is. Like, that's why we're all here together to get the three hosts together. And Talk
[00:03:45] Matt: of an era.
[00:03:46] James: enjoyed about the show and what we learned. Four years and like three weeks, We celebrated four years when we hit
[00:03:52] James: two
[00:03:52] Matt: hundred but realistically
[00:03:54] Aaron: Oh, that's a good one. That's a good one.
[00:03:57] James: know what? maybe we should have [00:04:00] Leland have three separate counters because you guys are taking the lead and we can make this a title fight. ha
[00:04:05] Matt: Yeah, taking the lead and taking back Sunday!
[00:04:07] James: Eh, you get half points for that. That, that wasn't
[00:04:10] Matt: that was, that was weak. that was weak.
[00:04:12] James: Yeah. This is just the starting line though. We're, gonna have puns all throughout the episode. There is gonna be a counter up here. ha ha.
[00:04:20] Matt: was good, James. That was subtle.
[00:04:22] James: Oh, I, I do my best. I do my best. it's Punny City
[00:04:25] Matt: Yeah, well, second sucks, so it makes sense that you do your best.
[00:04:30] James: This episode, going to be an episode to remember.
[00:04:33] Aaron: I'm just,
[00:04:34] James: That's what the reference was!
[00:04:36] Aaron: I know I'm just taking it.
[00:04:38] Matt: You're taking, taking back Sunday?
[00:04:40] James: anyway. There might be one counter up here, there might be three. We don't know. We'll see.
[00:04:45] Aaron: He's just going to put a random number, some question marks and Batman
[00:04:48] James: yeah. Be like, was that a reference? I don't know.
[00:04:51] Matt: This is the Twilight Zone. There's multiple counters.
[00:04:54] James: Yes. And none of them are accurate. Unless you add them all up and then divide them by five.
[00:04:59] Matt: [00:05:00] 42 is the answer.
[00:05:01] James: that is perfect because I was making a Hitchhiker's Guide reference because that is a trilogy with five books in it and there's three co hosts saying add them up and divide by five to get the answer and so that was Unintentionally, we both made a Hitchhiker's Guide reference.
[00:05:14] James: I love that.
[00:05:14] Matt: we're in sync.
[00:05:16] James: Everybody is groaning right now.
[00:05:19] Matt: Yeah they've already turned the episode off. This is just for us.
[00:05:22] James: Yeah Everybody drone to the ponds now. Everybody jam. Backstreet
[00:05:30] Matt: They definitely turned it off now.
[00:05:32] James: So, final episode, but kinda. Because
[00:05:35] Matt: episode light.
[00:05:37] James: of Bandhive podcast being a weekly show.I have no idea when the next episode is gonna be.
[00:05:43] James: Or who's going to be on it. It's not going to be a weekly show for the time being, but you know what, if something really pisses me off or I have an amazing guest that I want to get on the show, we'll do an episode. So fear not, we are not going away completely. We are just not going to be in your ear holes every single week.
[00:05:59] James: I'm [00:06:00] thinking it'll probably be like maybe once or twice a quarter. If you want to get in touch with us and hang out. Every single week you can join the bandhive
discord server at bandhive. rocks Slash
discord right now. We are doing a weekly series every monday night The schedule might change in the future, but it's still going to be weekly And it's a live chat every monday at 8 p.
[00:06:21] James: m Where we talk about the music business and have some great discussions about Current goings on in the business questions people have going through answers through solutions to issues that they're facing Anything like that bandhive. rocks
Discord if you want to keep things going with your weekly bandhive content And of course in between the weekly chats There's also text posts in there on a daily basis about gear the industry whatever you want to talk about We have a channel for it now that all said
[00:06:50] Aaron: in this episode, we're going to talk about our highlights And the opportunities that came from this podcast for us individually. First of all, though, before we get into all of [00:07:00] this, I just want to say thank you to you both for being on the show for as many episodes as you both did, because that is a lot of time out of your days.
[00:07:08] James: And it was an absolute pleasure getting to talk with you on a regular basis and just have fun, make lots and lots. of terrible band puns. We really did some terrible things on this show. But it was so
[00:07:21] James: So wrong, it's right. Yeah. Unfortunately so.
[00:07:25] Matt: It's a beautiful disaster.
[00:07:27] James: episode 215, because, I mean, cool is just a number. 215, we could have stopped it at 200, or 250, but we didn't. We said 215, close enough, why not? And really that comes down to, it's right after the holidays, so I figured, hey, let's get through the, what we can record before the holidays, and schedule those out, and then, in the new year, those episodes will drop.
[00:07:47] James: So, that's what we're doing. We're recording this December 11th, and it's dropping on January 9th.
[00:07:52] Matt: Yeah,
[00:07:52] James: just about a month out.
[00:07:53] Matt: sometimes you just lose yourself in the holidays. And you need to record stuff ahead of time, so.
[00:07:59] Aaron: Ain't it fun?
[00:08:00]
[00:08:02] James: Somebody's getting fired.
[00:08:03] Matt: And taking back Sunday!
[00:08:06] James: If you don't get that, go back on Paramore TikTok to, like, the end of November. Because that's, like, two months ago almost now, by the time you're hearing this. But, uh, yeah, Paramore Talk, end of November, early December. It's pretty funny, actually, and really get fired up about it. There's a fire inside.
[00:08:20] Matt: This is my December.
[00:08:22] James: Ooh, yeah. Well, anyway, do actually have to keep this moving because there's Somewhere I Belong, which is the Bandhive Weekly Music Business Chat, in an hour. So, we have to keep this rolling, and all these puns thank you for the Linkin Park clue there, I have thought about it either. But, who knew that, in the end, when this podcast is coming to a close, we're all three back together, doing this show as we form one dark flame.
[00:08:48] Matt: Wow, that was so over the top. You had that sentence written beforehand.
[00:08:53] James: I am trying very hard to pun here.
[00:08:55] Matt: That was like five of them.
[00:08:56] James: Yeah.
[00:08:57] Matt: Okay, I feel better now. We're gonna keep going. [00:09:00] So, highlights. We're gonna do this alphabetically, except with me last. Aaron, take it away. What's your highlight from your time on the Bandhive
[00:09:08] Aaron: low hanging fruit here.
[00:09:10] Aaron: Um, But it's the truth. Listening to the both of you and then listening to the guest, whether I was on set episode or not. And then second this was the first podcast that I, did all the way back in the before times of 2019 before the world changed. James reached out and asked if this is something I'd be interested in.
[00:09:31] Aaron: And, I did a lot of a little and a little of a lot and, never really had the opportunity to sit down and talk about it. So that was a real highlight for me to sort of talk about it. Hear other people talk about what it is that they enjoy doing most and what they do best.
[00:09:45] Aaron: Yeah. Hashtag family
[00:09:47] Matt: those episodes were so fun in the before times because we actually were sitting in the same room recording. We weren't doing remote, which is what we've been doing now. I mean, Matt was always remote because distance. You lived like 45 minutes away.[00:10:00] Matt, I wish you could have been here with us. Yeah, that would have been pretty great
[00:10:04] James: you guys.
[00:10:04] James: hahaha and now Aaron, you live 10 minutes away from me, but when we did have you back on the show those few times, we just did remote anyway 'cause it was the new norm.
[00:10:14] Aaron: it's easier and you don't have to drive over here in the middle of winter and get stuck in our driveway. Our plow guy got stuck in the driveway today. Pretty guy
[00:10:21] Matt: man, he was December.
[00:10:23] Matt: underground.
[00:10:24] James: It very much is.
[00:10:25] Matt: Or December off of the road.
[00:10:27] James: we, are all in
[00:10:28] Aaron: basements now
[00:10:29] James: This is true. I mean, mine doesn't look like a basement to be honest, but it is.
[00:10:32] Matt: Mine does, absolutely. Unfinished.
[00:10:35] James: Yeah, and Aaron just has like, the narrow band of light, so you can't see anything. Are you between two acoustic panels?
[00:10:40] Matt: the
[00:10:40] Aaron: Yes sir. I am
[00:10:42] James: It's perfect framing.
[00:10:43] Aaron: yeah, you know what, Matt? We gotta get you to build a studio down there.
[00:10:46] Matt: I'll get around to it.
[00:10:47] James: Yeah, someday.
[00:10:48] Matt: takes a little too long.
[00:10:50] James: Four kids and a bunch of sheep and chickens
[00:10:53] Matt: Oh yeah, that's right. Running my own life.
[00:10:55] James: There's gotta be a pun in there somewhere about farms or something,
[00:10:57] Matt: like the most extreme type of punk rock there [00:11:00] is.
[00:11:00] Aaron: I, I mean, yeah.
[00:11:02] Matt: I hate this system so much, I grow my own food, I raise my own animals, I develop symbiotic relationships with animals in order to develop horticulture, and pedology, and agrostology, and all sorts of super awesome stuff.
[00:11:18] Matt: Because I just want to live my own life. I am the most punk rock person that could exist.
[00:11:24] James: I love it. we're getting pretty close out here. I don't have my own animals, but we're gonna have a backup generator and all that kind of stuff, so if,
[00:11:30] Matt: Oh, you'll get there,
[00:11:31] James: goes out, just, we have power. People
[00:11:34] Aaron: Yeah. Neighbors eat them.
[00:11:35] James: over and saying, hey, can we use your toaster?
[00:11:37] Matt: can use my toaster.
[00:11:41] James: More realistically, they'll come over and say, can we plug in your toaster? There'll be like ten toasters on the kitchen counter.
[00:11:47] James: That's right.our neighbors are absolutely fantastic. They're welcome to, uh. come use our power once we have that backup generator. Anyway, those are some great highlights, Aaron.
[00:11:58] James: And to put you on the spot, [00:12:00] do you have a favorite guest you remember listening to whether you were on that episode or not?
[00:12:04] Aaron: God, I'm gonna do two. In no particular order. And truly no particular order JJR from keep flying in 1,000,001 other things
[00:12:13] James: Yes,
[00:12:14] Aaron: kind of, you know, lays it down the way that it is and he busts his ass and that whole band does as well. So mad respect there.
[00:12:22] James: It's always great to hear him talk about anything. I'm wearing a keep flying shirt. I'm trying to show them on camera
[00:12:28] Aaron: Nice.
[00:12:29] James: No, always good to hear that this guy's talk about anything. then I'm going to give a shout out to Brian from better things. Just because that's you know, recent memory, there was a really good local show some weeks back speaking of busting butts, they busted their butts.
[00:12:44] Aaron: very, very clear how much work Brian and the rest of the guys put into that. And it was very fun to get to hear Brian talk about that. and also the merch, video. That was Not going to let that go.
[00:12:56] James: too good. Yeah, was a time whenever [00:13:00] meme about me saying merch happened before this song but back in like 2016 There's that work work work work work song I always heard that, merch, all I gotta do is sell merch, merch,
[00:13:13] Matt: That's what it's like.
[00:13:14] James: that'll be, if Better Things ever covers a song again, it'll be that, but merch.
[00:13:18] James: I'm saying this now, I have no control over those guys whatsoever, but I'm just putting that out there. I'm manifesting it,
[00:13:24] Matt: is secretly their manager. That's
[00:13:27] Aaron: Your street light manifesto ing
[00:13:30] James: in a galaxyOh, that was too good. You know, I hate to say it though, Aaron. If we got paid for the puns we make, we'd all be earning less than Jake.
[00:13:40] Aaron: Yeah. Jake makes a lot of money. no, I'm sorry. The joke, the Jake, now Jake doesn't make a lot of money and ruined your joke. I'm sorry, James.
[00:13:48] James: It's okay, it's
[00:13:49] Aaron: And I'm ruining it more by talking about it.
[00:13:51] James: I'm just gonna throw this out here. All my best friends are metalheads. I'm sorry, Aaron. I know you're more of a punk.
[00:13:55] Aaron: Losers club.
[00:13:56] Matt: All my friends are metalheads too, and I'd pick [00:14:00] my friends over you.
[00:14:01] James: Boom! There we go. Sticks and stones, man. Sticks and stones.
[00:14:05] Matt: That's right. Boom!
[00:14:07] Aaron: guns.
[00:14:07] Matt: You need to know your roots.
[00:14:09] James: when it comes down to puns, you really gotta set your goals. Just set them high. Set them up here. Alright. Well, Aaron, thank you for sharing that. Matt, how about you? What are your highlights from the
[00:14:19] Matt: Um, They're lightly blonde. They stem from my roots all the way down to my tips. Just like the guys from NSYNC. bUt no, my highlights, honestly, we're just spending, time with everybody talking. I just like talking about music. I like talking. it's fun to have people to talk music with.
[00:14:35] Matt: It's fun to have people to reminisce with. It's fun to have people to share different perspectives with and kind of see the world that like we love and that we grew up in and that we always kind of immortalized and, basically we like. this culture around it through like mythic legend and, immortalizing things in our own mind and saying, you know, singing in the shower and, it's awesome to kind of like see other people's journey, um, to see[00:15:00] how we all, you know, kind of fed on the same dopamine for lack of a better term.
[00:15:06] Matt: and really, you know, developed dreams and saw things from different angles. And it was really great getting to hang out with you guys. James, you and I have, have spent many, many episodes discussing many, many things both agreeing and disagreeing and, sharing wisdom and,my highlights are developing.
[00:15:26] Matt: And even more quality relationship with you, especially also with Aaron, but, definitely James, you and I have, done uh, probably 150 to 200 episodes, somewhere in that range. there's a lot of wisdom that you've especially shared with me, on the other side of the board from me.
[00:15:42] Matt: I'm on the stage and you're on the board. And having that, fresh perspective on top of that, you're on a different part of the spectrum from me in terms of, like, Kind of who we are as people like you're more introverted. I'm more extroverted. You're more data oriented.
[00:15:55] Matt: I'm more people oriented. You're more computer savvy. I'm [00:16:00] more organically oriented. think that that's such an awesome dynamic. And I think that it's just been so much fun, developing a good quality relationship with you and experiencing great friends along the way.
[00:16:13] James: Yeah, I, I think that's one of my favorite things too and I guess I can just go right into that one first and say, just being able to hang out with both of you for so many hundreds of hours over the past four years has been absolutely phenomenal and you know, Aaron, we knew each other fairly well before the podcast, but we definitely know each other better now especially now that we're both in the same band by complete coincidence, really.
[00:16:35] James: and then Matt, you know when we were on Warped Tour, we knew each other We were Facebook friends, but we didn't really know each other and now you're one of my best friends just from being on the podcast and Chatting outside of recording all these years And so stoked to have both of you guys in my life Because of this podcast
[00:16:52] Matt: even
[00:16:52] James: Aaron I have no idea how well we'd know each other to this point if you hadn't been on the show we might still be just like casual acquaintances who
[00:16:59] Aaron: of, [00:17:00] yeah.
[00:17:00] James: grab lunch once every three years or something.
[00:17:02] Aaron: this is
[00:17:03] Aaron: been a very positive gravity well.
[00:17:06] James: there a reference there that I'm missing? I feel like there's a reference there.
[00:17:09] Aaron: That sounded like one, but no, I just said words.
[00:17:12] James: Okay. I was like, I
[00:17:15] Aaron: Uh, It's a good band name, listener. You get that one for free.
[00:17:18] James: Hold on, hold on, hold on.
[00:17:19] Matt: There is a psychedelic stoner doom band from Belfast called Gravity Well. So, as cool as that name is,
[00:17:27] Matt: Ding!
[00:17:27] James: else has it.
[00:17:28] Matt: And, if you happen to be in Gravity Well and are listening to this episode, send me an email at james at bandhive.
[00:17:35] James: rocks and we'll send you something. But you have to prove it. You have to send it from like, the band's email. We'll figure that part out. Just, email me. james at bandhive. rocks if you're in Gravity Well. So that was a band reference. Add it to the counter
[00:17:47] Matt: email from Gravity Well and send it to you.
[00:17:49] James: graph. Well band, not Matt
[email protected].
[00:17:54] Matt: Yes. that's the perfect email.
[00:17:56] Matt: He'll never see through that. He has four eyes and can't see through it.
[00:17:59] James: [00:18:00] I don't need these. I'm legal to do pretty much anything,
[00:18:03] Matt: everything actually without them
[00:18:05] Matt: can your eyes pierce the veil, James?
[00:18:07] James: Ooh, yes they can.
[00:18:10] Matt: I might start spinning in circles.
[00:18:12] James: though, if I do that. So Hindsight 2020.
[00:18:15] Matt: Yes, it is. There you
[00:18:16] James: One of you is gonna get that one.
[00:18:18] Aaron: Local references are worth the double today.
[00:18:21] James: Got it, okay, I approve.
[00:18:23] Aaron: But you can't make it up.
[00:18:24] James: no. No, I can't. And this episode is going to be short, but not short enough.
[00:18:28] Aaron: I get points taken away for that.
[00:18:30] James: If you're not thinking of your own album a reference there. As expected.
[00:18:35] Aaron: Damn it, James.
[00:18:36] James: That's a blank pun right there. I'll give you that one.
[00:18:38] Matt: somebody cut him off at the knees.
[00:18:40] James: That's a yellow card. Not a red card, just a yellow card. We have lost all our listeners by this point.
[00:18:45] Matt: Yeah, that's the whole point.
[00:18:46] James: If you want to hear more puns, keep listening.
[00:18:50] Matt: If you want to hear about learning
[00:18:51] Matt: counter
[00:18:52] James: I'm learning right now not to make so many puns because you stop listening when I make puns. Endlessly, she said. Anyway, [00:19:00] so first things first, having you guys on the show and becoming really good friends with both of you has been one of the biggest highlights, if not the biggest highlight for me.
[00:19:07] James: I have three, that's the first one. The second one is having so many of my favorite non local artists on the show, and I have to specify non local, because I've had so many of my favorite local artists on the show that I can't mention them all. we'd be here till next year. And this is dropping on January 9th, so that's a long time.
[00:19:25] James: From like national level acts I gotta shout out iFightDragons, Ballyhoo, and Darkride especially. Also Keep Flying, I am wearing their shirt, so they get a shout out. And every other band that we had on the show cause I'm sure there are lots of amazing bands that deserve a shout out. And I can't remember them all.
[00:19:44] James: Uh, The nailers? Is that a huge nail gun?
[00:19:47] Matt: That's just a normal sized nail gun.
[00:19:48] James: It looks massive,
[00:19:50] Matt: it just felt like the right thing to do. That's just a normal sized framing nailer.
[00:19:54] James: if you have no idea what's going on, just look at the YouTube version, and you'll see Matt holding up a giant [00:20:00] nail gun. Actually, maybe there'll be a screenshot of that in the show notes.
[00:20:03] James: That's gonna, that's gonna be the, the image on the, Oh, that's the cover art. Yeah.
[00:20:07] Matt: you.
[00:20:09] James: and then the third thing was the first time I got recognized from TikTok. I was at a friend's birthday party and one of her friends Are you on TikTok? And I'm like, yeah. And he's like, okay. I wasn't sure. Because you're wearing flannel. But it wasn't red. And you look really familiar. so shout out to Rodney.
[00:20:29] James: He was the first person to ever recognize me out in public. And he's
[00:20:32] Aaron: Actually a massive Keep.
[00:20:32] James: Flying fan.
[00:20:33] Aaron: Shoutout to Rodney.
[00:20:35] James: and Rodney, if you're watching this on TikTok, shoot me an email, or actually just shoot me a DM and we'll send you something as well. tO follow up on that, there was a show over summer where I went to the show and no fewer than four people recognized me as like, that TikTok music guy, and my mind was just blown, I was like, One person, okay.
[00:20:52] James: Four? And maybe it was more than four, I can't remember for sure. But it was at least four, and I was just like, mind blown. I was like, oh, this is my audience, this is the hardcore [00:21:00] kids, like, this makes sense.
[00:21:01] Matt: like walking through there like frickin Mr. Monopoly, dude.
[00:21:04] James: Yeah.
[00:21:06] Matt: Just, up on his high horse. Yeah, he was pumped.
[00:21:09] James: money makes the world go around.
[00:21:11] Matt: No, music makes the world go round, and you are the arbiter of music. Therefore,
[00:21:15] Matt: You make the world go 'round
[00:21:17] Matt: James, you need the twirly mustache and like a scepter.
[00:21:21] Aaron: that will never happen. I cannot. I don't have those genes like you do, Aaron. I could just
[00:21:27] Aaron: give this to you,
[00:21:27] James: cut it off and put it on a, like a glue strip. Yeah.
[00:21:31] Matt: just glue pubes on your face.
[00:21:33] James: Now we're getting cancelled. Which is ironic because the show is actually getting cancelled right now. This is the final episode,
[00:21:38] Matt: Final episode. That's it! Mic drop!Boom! Oh,
[00:21:46] James: Anyway, when it comes to learning moments, we just learned. Not to make too many puns, and not to get cancelled. So, what other learning moments do we have? This time, Matt, I'm going to have you go first.
[00:21:56] Matt: you shouldn't have. My favorite learning moments [00:22:00] were how to use Google stupid podcast
[00:22:05] James: Ha ha ha ha ha ha
[00:22:06] Matt: Also, learning what CPU issues are.
[00:22:08] Matt: Now, my most learning moments were uh, honestly, anytime we had somebody on the show that was just bringing up something like totally new and totally creative, I, I think a lot about marketing and about, how people think, praxeology and psychology. And so It's one of those things that when you uh, have somebody on your show who says like, Oh, I'm just going to like, make a record that's a single, completely unique performance that, you know, you're going to send directly to your fans.
[00:22:34] Matt: funny, I was just thinking of Aaron Zimmer. I was like, oh, I bet Matt's gonna mention Aaron Zimmer, and then you did.
[00:22:40] Matt: he's just one of the many, it's so many different things. You know, him, it's his product. For uh, Who's the guy that I always say looks like Frank Zappa.
[00:22:48] James:
[00:22:48] Matt: Yeah,
[00:22:50] James: He was just on the episode a few weeks ago. he was a three time guest. Episode 211
[00:22:55] Matt: three episodes back. Bandhive. rocks slash 211. And Aaron Zimmer's episode with least of all [00:23:00] recordings was episode 44. bandhive. rocks slash 44. If you wanna listen to that one as well.
[00:23:04] James: Okay.
[00:23:05] Matt: So Todd is another one that's just completely inspiring because the way that he, like, thinks about music. And for me, I'm such an eclectic person that I, like, draw inspiration from all over the place. And so, meeting people, it's like, you know, you have on one hand somebody who's just, like, completely trying to optimize the user, the consumer experience by saying, like, Oh, you know what, kids who listen to music want?
[00:23:28] Matt: They want, like, a unique record. That was given to them, from their favorite artist and so they've tapped into like this certain ideology and this certain like perspective and that's so awesome. And then on the other hand, you have people like Todd Barrage who are like, I'm going to like break standards and I'm going to like reinvent what people's perspective like says on things and I'm going to like put out ridiculous Christmas music and I'm like, Oh, if I want to like where.
[00:23:54] Matt: Crazy ass clothes and film myself in this weird setting like I'm going to do it [00:24:00] because that's going to add to the branding, I don't know, for me, my learning moments have been like pretty much all oriented around, well, 100 percent around other people, 100 percent around James, you bringing up fresh perspectives having guests that,
[00:24:13] Matt: Just have like a certain air about them that is just like, Oh, yes, you are just crazy enough, or you are just daft enough, or you are just unique enough, or you are just crazy enough to make this work. And that's poetic in my eyes, the distance between genius and insanity is measured only by success. And so I find that the people who push boundaries, explore territories that are untouched and work in manners and mediums that are, would be considered, that wouldn't be considered, I should say, in general, and pushing those to the maximum. I think it's awesome because I think it creates, Bye!
[00:24:55] Matt: Places, thoughts and all sorts of emotions for, people and [00:25:00] markets that wouldn't necessarily have that otherwise. I love the perspective differences. Those have been the most learning and, introspective and humbling moments, especially on the show where my idea of success and my recipe for success and my.
[00:25:16] Matt: formula for success might meet something that's totally different. And that's awesome. that is also successful. more than one branch of the river, so to speak, and I love daydreaming about that.
[00:25:30] James: Yeah, that's a great Ballyhoo album, by the way, Daydreams.
[00:25:33] Matt: all that said,
[00:25:33] James: I fully agree with you, like
[00:25:35] James: There's so much to dig into there about different perspectives, because ultimately, you know, success, like you say, it's a moving goalpost. It's not going to be the same for anyone. Like, even Aaron, if you asked. Everybody in
Taken Alive, the four of us, I think we would all have different metrics for success.
[00:25:52] James: Matt, I'm sure it would be the same for you and the guys in Alive in Barcelona. you're not going to have the same goals across the board. [00:26:00] You should have goals that you all understand and are somewhat similar. Like, you can't have somebody who wants to tour full time and somebody who can't tour at all because they're in medical school.
[00:26:09] James: That's not going to work. And that's one of the things when we joined Taking a Live, Aaron, Rustin and Joe were very clear about, hey, we're doing this as a side project. We're not focusing on this. We're not trying to make this a career. we want to run it smart and we want to run it as a business, but it's not the main focus. And that's why. I was able to join, and I think the same for you, obviously, Suburban Samurai is your baby. And
Taken Alive is, you know, the other band. which is funny, because we did take you alive from Sub Sam, kicking and screaming.
[00:26:37] James: and for,
[00:26:37] James: me, it just dragged me out of the solitude. Because I wasn't in a band at all.
[00:26:41] Aaron: there's a heck of a lot of value and yeah, being upfront like that and, aligning goals and perspectives and, all of that that you're just mentioning.
[00:26:49] James: well, Aaron, if you want to jump into your learning moments. Ha,
[00:26:53] Aaron: sounds like I'm cheating, but I mean it. the entire experience that has been the better band Bureau. Am I allowed to say that on the [00:27:00] podcast? And slash or band hive. the thing altogether and its entirety has been a learning moment for me.
[00:27:07] Aaron: You know, it's selfishly, but honestly it's allowed me to sift through and make sense of some of my experience and thoughts and feelings about. Like approaches to projects, or the way that certain people do the things that they do in a way that I hadn't had the chance to think about those things before.
[00:27:22] Aaron: And the gift that the experience has given me has beenlearning how to look at a lot of different things from a slightly different perspective or point of view. And think about those things differently. And I guess a secondary sort of gift or a thing that I've been able
[00:27:38] Aaron: To learn from this experience has beenwhat sorts of things, might be helpful to others, like, for us to talk about but alsowhat of others experience might be applicable to me. like, you're never done learning. So it's kind of like echoing. I think what Matt said earlier whole experience of talking about this stuff.
[00:27:55] Aaron: Like, it's fun and it's cool. And it's interesting to hear where. [00:28:00] Other people are coming from to tackle like the same problems you're trying to tackle. It's also interesting to hear about. Other people and their challenges or the projects that are just like so far from being on your radar like that's another example of something that just broadens, you know, one's perspective and understanding of how this whole, you know, weird music thing works. Sothe whole experience, bottled or packaged or bundled up together for me has been 1 big, you know, learning moment from episode to episode or conversation to conversation.
[00:28:28] Aaron: Admittedly, I am so incredibly late to the
discord game, but James, the other day, it wasn't a, I was neglecting it. It was a high happened to has not. Experience how awesome discord can be I finally did it. Obviously, Ben hive the first and only server that I'm part of at the moment.
[00:28:50] Aaron: and so yeah, I'm excited to, see a lot of those similar conversations take place on there, whether it's like a, gear share or person, a picking person [00:29:00] B's brain about a piece of gear, or whether it's. Talking about Spotify or talking about, you know, how do I cold email a venue for my first show?
[00:29:09] Aaron: That was a point somebody brought up the other day. And it was cool to see how they're approaching it. And how myself and other people, you know, we're sort of speaking to some of the questions that they had. So I'm going to shut up now, but the whole experience is 1 and to echo Matt's point, just kind of being able to hear about.
[00:29:24] Aaron: Yeah. Other people's stuff, what they have going on.
[00:29:26] James: sounds like the Bandhive podcast really had an audience of one, which was you. all puns aside, I'm sorry. that's fantastic, I'm so glad that it was such a good experience for you, and you're so, just like, soaking up that knowledge of everything from the podcast over that time.
[00:29:41] James: And I'll be totally honest, until about three months ago, I hated Discord. Which I still, I'm not a huge fan. And this Discord server that we made is on a separate account from my actual Discord account, which is just so bloated with servers and notifications and all that, that it, physically pains me to open it and look at it.
[00:29:58] James: So I was like, wait, you know what? have [00:30:00] this other account that I made for like one client once. You know what? I'll make the Discord in my other account and maybe I won't hate it. And I actually, I love the server. I still hate Discord. But the server and the community that we've built, I absolutely love it.
[00:30:11] James: And I was looking at the numbers today. We have 35 people in that Discord community right now as of December 11th. We have over 700 in the Bandhive Facebook group. And guess what? There's like ten times as much activity in the Discord as there is in the Facebook community. So, folks, please join us.
[00:30:27] James: bandhive. rocks. com That is your invite link to join the community. And uh, reminder, every Monday night at 8pm, which is in uh, 38 minutes right now. We have a weekly discord chat. So have to get things going here because I have to do that. And this comes out on a Tuesday. So you have six days from when this comes out to join the discord and get on it.
[00:30:48] James: So I would just join right now. And then you can see what the discourse is like in that server. Anyway, my learning moments. I could say all the amazing guests, all the conversations with you guys, but the [00:31:00] biggest one that I think will be valuable to you, the listener, is always back up your files more than you think you need to.
[00:31:07] James: Because there was an early episode, I want, to say it was maybe like number eight or number thirteen or had to be one of the first ten. Where, somehow, I accidentally deleted the session files from Pro Tools for an episode after doing the entire edit and all of that.
[00:31:24] James: And now I have Dropbox and I have Backblaze, which have file history. And now I have a longer file history, but at the time, in 2019, it was 30 days. Now I have, I think, 365 days on Backblaze and 180 on Dropbox. So I accidentally deleted the entire folder. And then I went on vacation for a month, and I came back, and I went to look at that episode, and guess what?
[00:31:45] James: The folder wasn't there anymore, because I deleted it, and the 30 days had passed. So Aaron, you and I recorded that episode twice. I can't remember now which one it is, but it's one of the first 10. that is a secret that I don't think I've ever, maybe I mentioned it [00:32:00] on that podcast episode, I can't remember.
[00:32:01] James: But, point being, back up your stuff, be sure that you do use Backblaze, double check before you delete anything, and just pay for the extra file history so you get more than 30 days, because you never know when you're going to say, oh, where is this, oh, I deleted it. Well, guess what? It's still in my Dropbox file history.
[00:32:20] James: So Here it is. I've downloaded it again. And we're all set. We're good to go. And that is something that you cannot do with Google Drive. Sorry, I just had to throw that in there. Like, I literally, as I wrapped it up, was like, Oh yeah, that's a really good feature that Google Drive can't do. Yesterday there was a big in the
Taken Alive group chat about Google Drive versus Dropbox.
[00:32:40] Matt: Yeah, when it's lost, it's literally lost. Lost forever. Lost in the sound of separation.
[00:32:45] James: Lost forever, lost together.
[00:32:46] Matt: No, no, no. It's lost forever, lost together.
[00:32:49] Matt: Is it really?
[00:32:50] Aaron: you testify to that under
[00:32:51] Matt: I really Am I really screwing up my
[00:32:53] James: We're the architects of puns. Yeah, it's lost forever, lost together. So, I get the point. Sorry, Matt.
[00:32:58] Matt: I'm unimpressed with [00:33:00] myself.
[00:33:00] James: Yes, yes you are. Hehehehe. There's more puns rattling around in my brain, but I'm not gonna be able to pull them out and make any sort of sense of them right
[00:33:13] Matt: Now because my senses are failing me.
[00:33:16] James: Anyway, so, my learning moment, all that chaos aside, is back up your stuff, back it up again, and then maybe back it up one more time after that, because you don't want to lose your songs, you don't want to lose your sessions, especially.
[00:33:28] Aaron: You don't want that taste of chaos
[00:33:30] Matt: Oh,
[00:33:33] James: All these puns are getting really corny.
[00:33:35] Aaron: They're not going to get better.
[00:33:36] Matt: Better things is not here. We're just doing terrible things.
[00:33:39] Matt: We have not seen better days.
[00:33:41] James: Nope. No, we have not. Anyway. The last category we have here.
[00:33:48] Aaron: will be over. And people are praying for someday to come suddenly.Ooh.
[00:33:53] James: Nice one. Anyway, the last category that we have on the list is opportunities. this time we're going to go back to Aaron [00:34:00] first.
[00:34:00] Aaron: number one, James's puns. I've had the opportunity to have been brought to the pun school many times. like, I cannot aspire to be the, pun god master that James is,
[00:34:11] James: I'm sorry you're not a winner.
[00:34:13] Matt: I've thoroughly enjoyed being brought to pun school. And to short story time in Vermont if you can imagine the, yes, there were. More than three local bands growing up in the rock punk metal hardcore scene. And there were, two kinds of gatekeepers.
[00:34:28] Aaron: There were the kinds of gatekeepers who, you know, even in 2006 their production was fantastic and so therefore they were better than you because of that. gate closed. Right? And then it was 2006, so probably more than the, my productions better than yours. We had the, I'm too punk for you, or I'm too DIY for you.
[00:34:48] Aaron: I'm just a cool guy, I'm punk or whatever. and they had some gates that they. You know, like to keep close to so, feel like this podcast for me has been an opportunity to [00:35:00] hopefully, be that big smelly gross guy standing in front of a gate and just, making sure that that stays wide open for whoever might be listening and maybe even interested in what we have to say here.
[00:35:12] Aaron: What we want you to know is that, if you want to learn, we embrace you with our arms wide open.
[00:35:16] Aaron: Oh God.
[00:35:17] Matt: That's a lie. If you come to us,
[00:35:20] James: It takes one to know one.
[00:35:21] Matt: I'm gonna give you a box full of sharp objects.
[00:35:24] James: Ooooooo.
[00:35:26] Matt: And you'll be puking the day away, alright? You'll just feel used.
[00:35:30] Aaron: That's how you use.
[00:35:31] James: that was so good I forgot the pun I just made.
[00:35:33] Matt: That was Like, a 1 2 3 punch.
[00:35:35] James: yeah, what, what was the one I just made?
[00:35:38] Matt: Oh yeah, with arms wide open.
[00:35:39] Aaron: Yeah. But rock.
[00:35:40] James: Creed.
[00:35:40] Matt: There we
[00:35:41] Aaron: arms wide open We flee, That was really good.
[00:35:45] James: was spot on. You should replace Scott Sapp. And he should stop.
[00:35:50] Matt: Honestly, Scott Stapp is going to replace Scott Stapp because that guy is like, like I can't wait for them to start like offering like cybernetic implants because Scott Stapp will be the [00:36:00] first person to sign up because that, dude is absolutely insane in the membrane. Oh yeah.
[00:36:07] Matt: Scott Stapp is, no idea. I mean, James, dive down the Scottsdap rabbit hole.
[00:36:12] James: See, I knew about the guy from Trapped. I didn't know about the guy from Creed.
[00:36:16] Matt: Oh my gosh. okay, so like, Scottsdap's son had request people stop sending him money because he was requesting for money. He would like, basically make up a fake tour story. Like, complaining about people not treating him well enough, and then, like, posted
Venmo, and people would send him money to use it to buy amphetamines, he went crazy.
[00:36:34] Matt: Induced, like, a paranoid, schizophrenic form of serotonin syndrome. then sobered up and continued touring, but I mean, it's, like a whole thing.
[00:36:43] James: know what Wikipedia rabbit hole I'm going down tonight.
[00:36:46] Matt: Yikes.
[00:36:47] Matt: rabbit hole that has no bottom.
[00:36:50] James: Yeah, rabbits are roadkill on Route 37. Oh, anyway Aaron, was that wrapped up, or did you have more that you wanted to say before we so crudely interrupted you with [00:37:00] lots of puns
[00:37:00] Aaron: Talk about Scott Stapp's hole.
[00:37:02] James: Oh,
[00:37:06] Aaron: Thank you, sorry, thank you. No, I mean really, you know, I was blabbing, but this has been an opportunity to stand in front of some doors, some gates somewhere, but not be an asshole about it. You know, I think we all like talking and nerding out over gear or, you know, driving way too far you know, or all of it.
[00:37:22] Aaron: So this has been an opportunity to hear myself do that and hear other people do it too.
[00:37:26] James: I love it, and what I'm hearing is, I don't want to be an asshole anymore.
[00:37:29] Aaron: yep.
[00:37:30] Matt: It's funny, I was literally going to say that as far as my opportunities go, mine were all the exact opposite of Aaron's. I was just so happy to be a gatekeeper and be an asshole to people. And just honestly, use my power and knowledge to exert my will on others. And as most of an authoritarian, dictator, evil gremlin kind of way.
[00:37:54] Aaron: Thank you for being my arbiter of destruction while I have been a grave digger and a naysayer.
[00:37:58] James: Oh,
[00:37:58] Aaron: you for being [00:38:00] a friend.
[00:38:01] Matt: Now, honestly, I love the opportunity to share wisdom both my own and, Previous people's things that I've learned, Nuggets of Wisdom Nuggets hey, there's a little chiasm for you.
[00:38:12] Matt: We talked about Nuggets in the first episode that never aired, and we'll talk about it here. so Maybe this episode will never air.
[00:38:18] James: Don't say that.
[00:38:19] Matt: thank you, James, for the opportunity to teach others about something that I'm passionate about.
[00:38:24] James: Absolutely, Matt. think, one of the things for me, and it sounds like you're not finished, but I just want to piggyback this there. And say, my opportunity Which is also really a highlight is meeting tons of amazing artists who are up and coming or local bands or national bands or whatever and seeing them grow on their journey because they're using the knowledge that they gained from the podcast or from BandHive in general and they're using that and growing because of it.
[00:38:50] James: And that's just like the coolest feeling ever. It's like there's bands that have gotten signed that are like doing national tours now. Because they listened to Bandhive. I'm like, that is what the goal was from the start. That [00:39:00] is what I wanted. And it's happening, and I'm so stoked about that. And I couldn't have done it without the two of you either.
[00:39:04] James: You guys were both a massive part of Bandhive and this show.
[00:39:08] Matt: Another thing that's been wonderful to me is passing along wisdom to, artists essentially to kind of help them chase their dreams. It's not just about, the individual episodes.
[00:39:17] Matt: Um, It's the greater
[00:39:20] James: It's like an encyclopedia. You can have one volume of the encyclopedia and it's kind of useless. Unless you have something in that one specific volume that you need to look up.
[00:39:28] Matt: what a fantastic episode of Friends.
[00:39:30] James: be the first to admit I've never watched that show, and I probably should.
[00:39:33] Matt: Nah, yeah, you should. There's an episode of Friends where Joey only has enough money to buy a single book from an encyclopedia set.
[00:39:42] James: Well, unintentional reference, but it's not a band, so it doesn't count.
[00:39:45] Matt: yep.
[00:39:46] James: If you listen to just one podcast episode, it's like having one volume from the encyclopedia. You need to have all of them. And I'm not saying you need to listen to all 215, but you need to listen to a good chunk of them to really understand what we're saying. you can pick.[00:40:00] Bits and pieces here and there
[00:40:01] James: listening to the entire back catalogue is Where you're really gonna get the benefit
[00:40:05] Matt: this podcast has been a wonderful opportunity for me to extend my reach to people who love music, care about art who put their own passion on a pedestal and say, world scrutinize me. It's both confidence for people who have the balls to do that.
[00:40:22] Matt: It is also confirmation for people that have the uh, curiosity to do that. It is. It is power to those who feel weak and inconfident in doing that, and it is intelligence in those who feel introspective and self searching in doing that. for me, those the ways that, you know, when I have sat down and said, what does music mean to me, four pillars for me. And I hope, as an opportunity for me, that I will continue to grow in my knowledge and learning and understanding and my symbiosis obviously [00:41:00] symbiosis is a poor word as music is not alive, but it makes me feel alive. And so, symbiosis feels like the perfect word for me. It has just been a genuine pleasure. And It has just been special.
[00:41:12] James: Thank you, man. We'll get to closing remarks In a second where we can all get sappy even sappier than we have been right now but in addition to
[00:41:22] James: Seeing those amazing artists Grow being one of the opportunities that i've had personally. I just want to throw out there to shout out to Not only aaron, but also rustin and joe from taken alive for asking me to be in the band Which I don't think would have happened if it weren't for the podcast I know for a fact that one of the things Rustin said when he asked me to join the band was like You know this stuff we want somebody who knows this stuff those weren't his exact words, but it was along those lines that was the meaning of it and if he hadn't Heard the podcast all these years.
[00:41:53] James: I don't think he would have made the connection that oh james knows this stuff Let's ask him to be in the band I mean, I might not have even been teching for[00:42:00] Taken alive or back then nerves if it hadn't been for the podcast and me just nerding out with rusting about gear and music business and stuff So that's a massive opportunity that has come up for me as well
[00:42:12] James: Now, that all said, it's time to wrap up this final episode of the Bandhive podcast. Matt, I'm gonna let you take it away first, since we've been, uh oh,
[00:42:22] Matt: terrible alternating.
[00:42:24] Matt:
[00:42:24] James: The power just went out, I'm on a UPS, for now.
[00:42:28] Matt: so here we go. Thank you everybody for being a part of this. Thank you for being a part of our family. Thank you for exploring new topics, new ideas, new ways of thinking, new paradigms challenging your own biases, coming here in The first place and admitting That you don't have all the knowledge. that is humility and that is the first step and everything that's important when it comes to embarking on an entrepreneurial road. Thank you for allowing us to Spill our hearts souls minds and intellect into you Hopefully there's a small nugget of wisdom that you could [00:43:00] have gleaned between all of this And we look forward to not only you growing as an artist But also you growing as a teacher so that one day you can then in turn pay it forward and pass your knowledge On to the next of kin so that we can continue the cycle.
[00:43:15] Matt: the passion for art The love of exploration, the love and pursuit of imagination, and really just the overall encompassing world that is creativity.
[00:43:27] James: That is fantastic, Matt. I think that sums up everything I want to say, which we'll get to that in a second. Aaron, you're next. Thanks.
[00:43:38] Aaron: well said, but try. And really, you know, thank you coming here and, being brave enough to learn. Thank you for helping us to learn and thank you for being here so that we can learn together because that's the only way that that works.
[00:43:51] Aaron: final note sign off, or at least for now, you know, we came as Romans, from first to last. This has been a for the fallen dream or or maybe a dream theater. Next stuff. [00:44:00] We'll keep flying. And I'm never going to give you up and I will never let you down.
[00:44:04] Matt: That sounded like a bunch of false promises to me.
[00:44:08] James: I can't believe you just Rick Rolled us. And that, when you said you had something prepared, I, I thought it was something
[00:44:14] Aaron: You thought I was going to not be a jerk.
[00:44:17] James: but that was amazing. I'm sorry, Matt, as amazing as what you said was, Aaron just won the podcast, the battle,
[00:44:24] Matt: he pun
[00:44:25] Matt: slapped
[00:44:25] Matt: me,
[00:44:25] James: if if it comes down to your battle symphonies.
[00:44:28] James: And there's one more light, excuse me which is very fitting because I literally have one more light, it's actually two, but I mean, all my other lights are out except the ones that are on the UPS right here I don't mean UPS, United Parcel Service. I mean, uninterruptible power supply.
[00:44:42] James: Just throwing that out there, if you have a music studio or anything like that, you need a UPS battery backup. So that way, if you're in the middle of that perfect take and the power goes out, you can just finish the take and it's beautiful. Just like this podcast episode. It would have ended right in the middle if we didn't have this UPS.
[00:44:58] James: But here we are, you know, it's a [00:45:00] little darker in the background. Oh, know, my amber light in the back went out.
[00:45:06] James: It's poetically pathetic.
[00:45:07] James: I just gotta say, guys, thank you again for being part of the show. Matt, it's been an absolute pleasure, and I look forward to another who knows how many decades of friendship. I've known both of you for about eight years already, and I'm looking forward to the next eight, sixteen, thirty two, sixty four.
[00:45:24] James: We'll keep doubling it from there.
[00:45:26] Matt: Bro, just tell us you love us if it means a lot to you.
[00:45:29] James: Well, I do love you both, but that reference was good. and thank you to everyone who's listened, whether you've listened to one episode, 10, or 215, technically 218 if you were around and you heard some of the bonus episodes which aren't available anymore. Thank you for that as well.
[00:45:45] James: Thank you for being here. And thank you, like Aaron said, for being willing to learn because that is. Such a difference. And that's one of the biggest issues I see is that there are artists out there who are not willing to learn. They don't want to learn. They just want to [00:46:00] blame everyone else for their failures.
[00:46:02] James: Because if they don't learn, then guess what? It's not their fault. It's somebody else's fault. But if they open themselves up to learning and trying things, then they fail. But here's the secret. Everyone fails. The first episodes of this podcast were a disaster! Go back and listen to episode one! you think were good at podcasting back then?
[00:46:21] James: No! We were not good at podcasting. We lost an entire episode because I deleted it by accident.
[00:46:27] Matt: one is gone.
[00:46:28] James: that one we still have. It was like 4 or 8 or something. Episode 7 we had to redo, which I forgot about because Matt's computer overloaded. And so we redid episode 7. So, don't be afraid of failure.
[00:46:41] James: Embrace it. Leap into the lightning. And be ready for what comes next. Now guys, Matt has something else to say.
[00:46:48] Matt: I've gotta do one of our iconic offs, where I just have this super passionate rant where I say something that's a total mic drop.
[00:46:55] James: Totally fine by me, but at the end, we're doing something special.
[00:46:58] Matt: Here we go. It's a piece of [00:47:00] wisdom. I love quotes, as most of you lunatics know.
[00:47:03] Matt: So I will leave you with this quote. All good things must come to an end. Get fucked.
[00:47:09] James: Mike drop
[00:47:11] Matt: so to sum all this up again, thank you to every single person who listened. Thank you to every single person who was on the show. Thank you to Matt. Thank you to Aaron. We're going to send you off with this. keep learning, keep having fun, keep making music, keep flying. And from all of us, to you, keep
[00:47:28] Aaron: rocking.
